My usual habit has been to take out a new O2 contract every 12 months for
phone upgrades (I just think of it as interest-free credit on the phone,
plus a useful way for friends on O2 to call/be called without cross-network
pricing). To the best of my knowledge O2 are now the only network that
aren't doing annoying "customizations" on phone software. In previous years
I've then just put my old Orange SIM still on a ringfenced tariff into the
new phone and put the O2 SIM into the old phone.

This is the first year I'm seriously considering getting rid of the Orange
SIM altogether...

Regards,

Chris
