Well, it's a completely voice activated voicemail system that only
requires you to press one button to get connected (none, if you have a
voice activated telephone with magic word technology) and then allows
you to do *everything* hands free.. From identifying yourself when
calling from another phone and entering your passcode.. To listening,
deleting and replying to messages. To adding, deleting and
manipulating a contact database.. Handy for hands free use not just in
the car but when cycling, travelling by train, walking etc..
Another useful feature is the ability to store up to 30 messages
indefinitely, so important messages you might need to refer to in the
future, or just want to keep for sentimental reasons. Will always be
available..
Oh and you can say "pi$$ off wildfire" and she says, "Thank you.
Goodbye" and hangs up! ;)
One really cool thing they could have easily done with her is set up
"PA Mode". Which, using GPRS, would allow you to stay permanently
connected to wildfire and have her manage your calls as she can at the
moment when you are listening to your messages or replying to one from
withing wildfire.. Ideal for handsfree or carkit users, Wildfire could
screen your calls and interrupt your car stereo, in-phone FM radio or
just through the speakerphone to warn you of an incoming call and to
give you the name of the caller in the callers own voice. Then giving
you the option to reject, take a message or take the call..
With the advent of better technology like GPRS, 3G etc. Orange have
really screwed up letting wildfire rot the way they have...
Ian, would you get wildfire based on the first bit above? Would you
pay a nominal fee for it?
