That's contrary to what I've been told. WF has been closed to new
connections (except the visually impaired) since the beginning of the
year. As of the night of May 31st/1st June, it'll be removed from
everyone's account, those who currently have it anyway. What a waste.
How much did O spend on buying Wildfire Corp? I imagine that Wildfire
Corp's telco customers in Canada weren't too happy that O bought them
and subsequently closed it down.

The people who are using WF (me included) are the very people O
shouldn't be irritating like this. On the whole, we probably have a
higher than average spend, and are influential when it comes to
making recommendations as to products, services, handsets, and
networks. I suppose that the Compaq servers (so I understood) which
WF ran on were getting to the end of their lives and as such the
beancounters couldn't justify their replacement. The solution? Ditch
the service and never mind goodwill.

O are increasingly moving towards a 'plain vanilla' service it seems.
I bet Hans Snook won't be pleased!
